Keep Track of Inventory Levels with ShipStation’s Inventory Management

inventory management

In the last few weeks, we introduced you to Create-A-Label and Quickship, not to mention last year’s 6 Weeks of Speed and Delivery Emails & Estimates. In keeping with the trend of giving you all the features you need to get ship done efficiently and effectively, let’s welcome third-party inventory tracking and our own native inventory management system to the fold!

ShipStation’s Native Inventory Management

Our native Inventory Management is designed around four main features:

  1. Track & Manage Stock Levels: When you visit the Products page, you’re going to see a new section: Inventory. From in here, you can set your initial stock levels via CSV import and as you ship, ShipStation will reduce the levels of available stock. You can replenish stock either by CSV import or with a handful of clicks.
  2. Monitor Stock Levels: If you need to reorder stock once your current levels are depleted down to a specific number, you can have ShipStation notify you. Set thresholds account-wide or on a SKU-by-SKU basis—whatever fits within your workflow.
  3. Apply Available Stock Based on Priority: Think of Allocation as Inventory Management’s way of reserving stock for each order. You set the criteria and hierarchy for which type of orders have products reserved for them first. So if, for example, you need to get Amazon orders out first, you can create an Allocation Strategy to reserve stock based on your priorities.
  4. Prevent ‘Out-of-Stock’ Orders from Shipping: Creating a label for an out-of-stock product can be a frustrating experience. With our Inventory Management, you can have ShipStation warn or block Users from shipping an order if it hasn’t been allocated yet.

Third Party Inventory Tracking

Are you using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), Stitch Labs or Channel Advisor to manage your inventory?

Stop jumping from screen-to-screen-to-screen and see your inventory levels live in ShipStation, in each order and on the Orders tab sidebar. Set-up is really simple: if you want to see your selling channels’ inventory levels, click here. If you want to see FBA’s inventory levels, click here.

With these features, you’ll be able to monitor and view levels of stock in ShipStation and gain peace of mind while you get ship done and only ship what you have in-stock.

Get organized and efficient with ShipStation the best online shipping platform for your ecommerce business.
